About Ell Harlander, M.Ed. Cert. Instructional Design
Ell is an enthusiastic L & D consultant and instructional designer whose passion is adult education. She received her Master's Degree in adult education in 2004 with a perfect 4.0 GPA. She completed a 12 course certificate program in instructional design through the Association for Talent Development. Ell is also a master certified business consultant, and is certified in human resources consultancy, and public relations.
Ell loves nothing more than spending time in nature. Most weekends she can be found bike riding, kayaking, or walking the beaches in coastal Georgia. She resides with her wonderful husband, her awesome son, and a collection of special needs rescue pets. Ell is a firm believer that you can never be too conscientious to too kind!

THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF STRESS
The mission of the AIS is to improve wellness around the world by setting the standard of excellence of stress management in education, research, clinical care and the workplace. Ell authored and designed an informal educative resilience training course for the AIS which is provided to its members for use with their clients.
E-Training Solutions develops interactive learning materials for nonprofits and healthcare organizations helping to improve wellbeing for workers and clients. They provide training on the emotional and physical impacts of stress, proper nutrition and well-being, and diversity and inclusion.
Micro-learning content can chunk information to increase retention. It can also be used as pull-up content to supplement previous training or to provide a quick and cost-effective method for on-the-job coaching.
Micro-learning aspects are typically 1- to 5- minutes long and should be no more than 10-minutes long. It can range from infographics to 3-minute podcasts, videos, or simulations to a complete micro-course. Click here to see an example of a micro-learning course for employees.
